Climbing Shrub Rose - John Cabot

Hardy Canadian Shrub / Climber (Dr. Felicitas Svejda, Canada, 1969)

Double, rosy pink, fragrant flowers bloom freely in mid-season with fall repeat. Climbs 8 to 12 feet or can be grown as a shrub. Glossy, medium green, disease-resistant foliage. An excellent climber for cold regions.

This rose in the Canadian Explorer series is named after Italian explorer and adventurer John Cabot (c. 1450 – c. 1499). Cabot is credited with the 1497 discovery of parts of North America under the commission of Henry VII of England. The official position of the Canadian and United Kingdom governments is that he landed on the island of Newfoundland.
