Overview

Apparently this rose has occasionally been sold in this country as Cl. Souvenir de l’Malmaison (not as Souvenir de l’Malmaison, Cl, another rose). After some research, I feel we definitely have the true Garisenda, which is a cross between R. wichurana and Souvenir de l’Malmaison and not the Cl. Souvenir de l’Malmaison which has been sold as Garisenda. All three of these roses are distinct plants whether or not they may have been occasionally scrambled at a nursery. This is a serenely beautiful rose. I highly recommend it. It occasionally reblooms here toward fall, so far, that rebloom has been sparse. Yet, one bloom with its exquisite perfume and green eye, is a treasure. Introduced in 1911.
