What Growers Notice

Notes, Photos, and Shared Experience

Read the overview first, then look through shared photos and real grower notes to get a better feel for how this rose behaves.

Overview

This fine shrub has vigor, sturdy, compact growth, deep green glossy foliage and rich coloring. Blooms tend to be in clusters of three to five, but strong shoots from the base will sometimes carry up to eighteen! The crimson/fuchsia blooms are three to four inches across, with 35 to 60 petals. The compact growth habit and mossing came from its parent, the Miniature Moss ‘Scarlet Moss’. This modern Moss rose is brand new for 2003, and exclusive to The Uncommon Rose this year. There have been very few new Moss roses created in the past few decades, which is a shame, for there are some charming qualities bred into these shrubs.
