Overview

This is such an extraordinary rose! If you are looking for very deep, dark red, beautifully formed, large, fragrant, repeat blooms; consider Guinee —and/or another of our roses— Souvenir du Dr. Jamain . Note: In very hot afternoon sun the blooms of all very dark red roses may brown a bit. So, perhaps, consider planting where they receive a bit of mid-through-late afternoon shade during the height of summer. Also consider the charm of planting where Guinee’s large blooms can peek through fluffy smaller sprays of bloom from a neighboring shrub or climber.
