What Growers Notice

Notes, Photos, and Shared Experience

Read the overview first, then look through shared photos and real grower notes to get a better feel for how this rose behaves.

Overview

A showstopper in every sense, this award-winning climber dazzles with bold, 4½" red and-white striped blooms that perfume the air with a sweet apple-rose scent. The semi-double flowers, with 10–15 petals each, appear freely in clusters from early summer onward, repeating through the season. Vigorous canes stretch 10–14', adorned with lush, disease-resistant foliage that stays handsome all summer. A 1999 winner of the AARS Award, Fourth of July is as tough as it is spectacular.
