App Updates

What’s new in the My Rose Tracker app, what we’re planning next, and the things we’re keeping an eye on.

Last updated: September 15, 2026. This page covers the iPhone and iPad app. Planned changes are not available until they appear under Released updates.

Released updates

Version 1.0 · September 11, 2026

Our first App Store release brings your rose library and garden records into the garden with you.

  • Browse and search the Rose Library without an account, including when you are offline.
  • Connect an existing Rose Tracker membership to access your plants and garden areas.
  • Record rose check-ins, notes, watering, bloom counts, and photos.
  • Scan a plant’s QR label to open its record. A label is not required to check in from My Roses.
  • Save check-ins on your phone when a connection is unavailable, ready to send when you reconnect.

Known issues and current workarounds

Moving between roses without printed labels

In version 1.0, the screen after saving a check-in does not offer a direct way to choose another rose from My Roses. For now, tap Complete check-ins for today to return to My Garden, open My Roses, and choose the next plant. Despite that button’s wording, it does not mark your other plants as checked or stop you from adding more check-ins today.

A suggested rose may already have a check-in today

The next-rose suggestion can return to a plant you already checked earlier today. You do not need to check it again. Choose a different plant through My Roses using the steps above.

Version 1.1 · In testing, not released

  • A clearer saved screen with both Choose a rose and Scan a label, plus an obvious I’m done for now button.
  • A searchable plant picker with garden-area filters and a Not checked today view.
  • Suggestions that skip roses already checked today, including check-ins saved on the phone while offline.
  • An appearance setting with System, Light, and Dark choices.

These improvements are being tested internally and are not yet available in the App Store. We will update this page when version 1.1 is released. There is no confirmed release date yet.

What we’re keeping an eye on

Our current round of testing focuses on gardens with a mix of printed and unprinted labels, larger collections, multiple plants of the same variety, and check-ins made without a signal. These are testing priorities, not additional confirmed bugs.
