Overview

This glowing red and yellow bicolor has been a staff favorite here for several years and now we can share it with the public. Brilliant vermilion petals have a deep yellow-orange reverse, opening first as Hybrid Tea shaped buds, then opening wide to show stamens. Blooms come in small clusters and sometimes one to a stem. This is a garden shrub, not a cut flower producer, because it makes fairly short bloom stems on a compact and shapely bush. At maturity ‘Dolly’s Forever Rose’ will reach about 4 feet tall and 3 feet wide, with a full profile and lots of the deepest green, highly glossy foliage. This is a real eye-catcher in the garden or in a tub and makes a great specimen shrub for a fairly small spot. Slight fragrance and some mossing on the buds, a trait inherited from one of its parents, ‘Scarlet Moss’. Photo and Comment Copyright 2007 The Uncommon Rose Introduced in 2006.
