Introduced by David Austin in 1999, 'Crown Princess Margareta' is a vigorous English Leander hybrid particularly valued for its performance in colder climates. The flowers are large, neatly formed rosettes of a deep apricot-orange that fade to a softer yellow at the edges, carrying a strong, fruity tea fragrance. It is a versatile grower, functioning as a tall, arching shrub or a climber reaching up to twelve feet, with healthy, matte green foliage. Named for the granddaughter of Queen Victoria, it is a reliable repeat bloomer that handles tough conditions well while maintaining a refined, old-rose elegance.
