Charles Rennie Mackintosh (AUSren)

Lilac-pink blooms that shift with the weather give Charles Rennie Mackintosh English Shrub Rose a fresh look week after week. Rosa 'AUSren' grows to about 4 feet tall and 3 feet wide, forming a tidy, upright shrub with large, neatly cupped flowers packed with petals. The color can lean more lilac in cool spells and more soft pink in warmth, so the plant never feels static. We like it where you can see it often, because the color changes are half the fun.

The Old Rose fragrance turns slightly floral with hints of lilac and almond blossom. This rose was named for the Scottish architect and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh, who used stylized roses throughout his work. Flowers arrive in flushes through the season, giving you repeat performance. Use it in mixed borders, a dedicated rose border, or as a repeating accent along a path. This variety can tolerate some shade, which helps in city gardens with limited sun.
