Alba Semi-Plena was most likely “The White Rose of York” in the Wars of the Roses in 15th century England. The flowers are pure white, semi-double in clusters with a coronet of golden stamens. The fragrance is sublime which explains why the rose is still used in Bulgaria for production of attar of roses. Pegging or training horizontally is advised for more blooms. Lovely healthy grayblue Alba foliage on a graceful fountain shaped shrub. Unknown before 1629.
