Current Notes
Introduced by Kordes in 2001, 'Caramella' is a robust shrub rose known for its exceptional health and amber-toned beauty. The large, heavily ruffled blooms are a warm caramel-yellow that deepens toward the center, often taking on a subtle orange glow. These cupped flowers appear in clusters and are supported by incredibly stiff, upright canes and thick, lealthery green foliage that is highly resistant to black spot. Reaching about four to five feet in height, it is a vigorous repeat-bloomer that holds up well in both high heat and heavy rain. While its fragrance is mild, 'Caramella' is prized for its modern "fairytale" aesthetic and its ability to provide a dense, colorful screen with very little maintenance.
