Soft, salmon pink with white eyes and yellow stamens in large clusters. New Face is one of the very few roses that will bloom well even in fairly deep shade. Many visitors remark that it reminds them of a pink dogwood. As you can see its healthy foliage and sparkling clusters in our bush photo, its healthy foliage and sparkling clusters have the ability to light up dark corners. It receives only occasional dappled light where we have it among dark evergreens. We have listed the height at 5′, but we’re noticing a decided willingness to climb in our Zone 8 climate. It can easily be kept to a modest height, however. Introduced in 1982 in the Netherlands by Peter Ilsink.
