Introduced in 2003 by Ralph Moore Paul Barden has this to say: “This fantastic rose is one of the many spectacular roses from Ralph Moore. This rose was bred in the late 1970’s and Mr. Moore finally decided to release it into commerce in 2004 (He pondered its merits for many years, considering it to be too similar to the rose ‘Regansberg’. While there are similarities, I think ‘The Dahlia Rose’ is a much nicer rose and it has much fuller blooms.) Near-white petals have deep raspberry splashes at the bases, making for a very showy bloom. It produces blooms in cluster of up to five, and each bloom is 3 to 3.5 inches across. The only thing missing is fragrance. The shrub itself is not overly large, growing to about 2.5 feet tall, and slightly wider, depending on climate. The deep green foliage is quite disease resistant. The whole effect is that of a broad Floribunda style rose, and it blooms so profusely that the blooms nearly obscure the bush.” Photo copyright Paul Barden 2008
