Like so many of Pedro Dot’s roses this one has unusually lovely color. The yellow at the core of the beautifully overtoned red-orange petals further emphasizes the celebratory color. Who says all hybrid teas need to have a certain high centered exhibition form to be regarded as beautiful? This one certainly doesn’t. It nods its blooms and it blues as it ages, yet many regard it as stunningly beautiful. If it would only root easily! Introduced in 1933.
