Overview

Linda Campbell’s parent is a Miniature crossed with an old Rugosa Hybrid. It is a lanky, prickly shrub, tall enough to be used as a clmber in cold areas; The flowers open from pointed buds typical of Rugosas, borne at the tips of the branches. They are loosely double, slightly ruffled in the middle, and a very bright red, often with white streaks at the base of the petals. They are carried on short stems in tight clusters of 3 – 9 flowers. They last a long time before fading.Long arching branches extend 5 feet in a season. The leaves are less wrinkly tan most Rugosa hybrids. This is a popular rose in the South as it repeats fast. Linda Campbell was editor of the American Rose Annual; she died young of cancer.
